SOP traveled across different regions such as Lambir, Niah, Suai, Marudi, Sebauh, Sungai Asap, Tatau and Balingian to visit the 41 participating schools and made the handovers.

SAP is a part of SOP’s CSR initiatives to provide financial support on educational needs to underprivileged children from primary and secondary schools within the vicinity of the Group’s operations. 84 students in need from low-income families received one-off financial assistance as well as new school bags and stationeries.

For records, SOP has granted total of 572 students for the same CSR programme since 2016.

SOP does not only focus on oil palm business but also aims to grow together with local communities by helping them through various CSR initiatives in education out- reach. The Student Adoption Programme is one of SOP’s many CSR projects – among them the Young Achiever Awards (YAA), SOP Vision Care Project and SOPGet Equip’d Rehabilitation Programme collaboration with Healthy Strides Foundation Australia – all of which are the catalyst for SOP to grow together with local communities.
