Miri – Sarawak Oil Palms (SOP) held two (2) days SOP Sepak Takraw Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, exclusively for its employees at Miri Indoor Stadium. The event, held in conjunction with the anniversary celebrations, showcased the spirit of teamwork, camaraderie, and athleticism among SOP employees.
The SOP Sepak Takraw tournament took place at the Miri Indoor Stadium, where total 21 teams of enthusiastic employees from across Sarawak regions competed against each other in a friendly and competitive atmosphere. Sepak Takraw, a dynamic sport that combines elements of soccer and volleyball, provided the perfect platform for employees to showcase their skills and engage in healthy competition.
“The SOP Sepak Takraw tournament is one of many fantastic ways for us to celebrate SOP‘s 55th anniversary and recognise the immense talent and teamwork among our employees,” said Selvarajah Lurdusamy, Plantation Controller. “The event highlighted our commitment to fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee well-being.”
The tournament kicked off with Selvarajah delivering inspiring speech, expressing gratitude for the dedication and hard work of the employees and emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration within the organisation. Throughout the tournament, teams displayed exceptional athleticism, agility, and strategic play, captivating the audience with their speed and skill. The matches were fiercely contested, showcasing the competitive spirit and sportsmanship of SOP employees.
