MIRI: Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOPB) held its first biennial blood donation drive yesterday at MRC Miri Training Institute after it has been brought to a temporary halt due to the Covid19 outbreak in 2020.

The blood donation campaign is part of SOPB’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme and is held twice a year in support of Miri Hospital Blood Bank.

“Hopefully this effort could assist the blood bank to overcome the shortage of blood supply. We would like to thank the public for their support towards our blood donation drive, as well as our staff members who stepped forward and donated blood,” said Assistant Head of Support and Services of SOPB, Joseph Ling.

The blood donation campaign managed to collect 80 pints of blood from 95 participants and each donor received a goodie bag and a bottle of Merris Pure Vegetable Cooking Oil produced locally in SOPB’s refinery.
